History
The Cornerhouse is a beautiful, detached house, set on a large corner plot. The nursery was founded by Noreen Siviter in 1985. Noreen began a child-minding business at the family home and quickly built up an excellent reputation in Harborne and beyond. The Cornerhouse Nursery was quickly established and became an instant success. Since it`s humble beginnings, the nursery has become a landmark for quality childcare and has grown into a 25-place nursery, one factor which makes the nursery unique is its size, we offer limited spaces to ensure all children be cared for and nurtured individually, as you would at home. We have a dedicated team of staff at the nursery, some of whom have over 20 years of service. Our nursery consists of a large, imaginatively refurbished rooms and spacious outdoor areas for children to thrive.
Ethos
We believe passionately that each child, with differing needs and interests, should be loved and supported as they grow. We know that children will thrive best in their learning if they feel emotionally secure, so we work very hard to promote warm friendships with staff and other children and to offer plenty of creative opportunities to learn through play.
At The Cornerhouse we aim to support a rich childhood, responding to the individual needs of every child through relationships that are loving and supportive.
We follow the government’s Every Child Matters agenda which seeks to offer an environment where the health and safety of each child is of paramount importance and one which enables each child to enjoy and achieve and make a positive contribution to society.
